A panic attack is rarely one thing. It's a cluster. A surge of physical sensations arrives with a flood of catastrophic thoughts, and the two reinforce each other in seconds. Most people remember a panic attack as a single overwhelming event, but the inside of it is more like a circle. The body shifts, the mind reads the body shift as proof of disaster, the disaster thought spikes the body further, and the loop tightens.
